Make-A-Wish Alabama volunteers work tirelessly to help grant life-changing wishes across the state. These volunteers meet with wish families, plan wish reveal parties, send out monthly communication touchpoints and more. Dedicated volunteers make our mission possible.
Volunteer Wish Granter Sandi Moore has been volunteering with Make-A-Wish Alabama for over seven years. She serves as a volunteer wish granter and works directly with our wish kids and their families to determine, plan, and fulfill their one true wish. Sandi was named Volunteer of the Year in 2018 and continues to serve Make-A-Wish Alabama with commitment and enthusiasm.
Sandi was inspired to join Make-A-Wish Alabama by her husband, Chris, who got involved with the chapter just one year before her. Chris was introduced to Make-A-Wish when his son received a wish 20 years ago. Together, these wish parents have worked on nearly 70 wishes.
"Sandi goes above and beyond for our wish kids," said Maggie Corcoran, Make-A-Wish Alabama Volunteer Manager. "She maintains wonderful relationships with her wish families after their wishes to make sure they feel supported and loved."
Sandi’s favorite part about volunteering is getting to put a smile on a wish kid’s face when she goes to visit them. She makes it a priority to develop lasting relationships with the kids and their families to make sure their wish experience is enjoyable.
“Sandi is always calling me or sending a card,” said Hannah, one of Sandi’s wish kids. “I feel like I have a team of cheerleaders behind me!”
Her love for the Make-A-Wish mission goes beyond the time she spends volunteering, and we could not be more grateful to have her volunteer with our chapter.
Thank you, Sandi!
