Alabama Central announces drive-through fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Alabama
Alabama Central Credit Union will serve barbecue lunches through its Homewood Branch’s drive-through lanes for just five dollars on Friday, October 9, 2015. The “$5 Drive-Thru BBQ” will be held at 250 West Oxmoor Road and lunches will be served from 11 am to 1 pm. All of the money will go to benefit Make-A-Wish® Alabama.
“The businesses around our branches are important to us,” says Phillip Blankenship, ACCU President and CEO. “We know their employees’ lunch breaks are valuable time. This way they can get a great lunch at a great price, and help Make-A-Wish® Alabama at the same time. And they don’t even have to get out of their cars!”
Saw’s Street Kitchen is catering the event, and guests can choose between smoked chicken or pulled pork sandwiches. Each lunch also includes baked beans, cole slaw and sweet tea.
“This is a unique event, and we’re excited to be a part of it,” says Kelly Harris, Community Events Coordinator with Make-A-Wish® Alabama. “It serves the community in a new way, and we’re hoping to see lots of cars in line for a tasty, easy meal.”
