What is a dream?
By definition a dream is considered to be an aspiration or goal, but if you ask a group of people I’m sure they would all have different answers.
Three-year-old Lorol’s dream may be slightly different than any other “average” three year old girl. For Lorol, snuggling with her mommy, going for walks, and putting on all the jewelry she can find is normal but so are hospital visits and therapy. In Lorol’s spare time she loves playing with peek-a-boo Elmo, reading her baby animal picture book and doing anything involving Disney.
Lorol’s family remains positive about her condition and Make-A-Wish Alabama would give the family time to relax and not worry about their problems for a period of time. Lorol’s smile spreads laughter and happiness to all those who she is surrounded by.
After talking with the family her wish seemed almost obvious! She wished to go to Walt Disney World Resort!
In December of 2014, Lorol and her family were off to Orlando to spend a week with Mickey and all her favorite Disney characters. Other things Lorol enjoyed were the rides, shows and riding the carousel at Give Kids the World every evening. The family even had the chance to spend the whole day at the Give Kids the World pool and playground! Lorol’s Mom told Make-A-Wish Alabama “It was a huge hit!”
Lorol’s wish is a moment that the whole family will forever remember and give them hope. Hope that all her wishes and dreams will come true throughout her life. Hope that she will forever remember this trip and see that for a moment, her world was free from hospital treatments and worry. A chance to just be an every day kid.
Make-A-Wish Alabama is honored to serve the hundreds of wish children all across the state, just like Lorol. Help us grant more incredible wishes to give all of Alabama children living with life-threatening medical conditions a chance to just be an everyday kid.
