Avery, 10, of Mobile, Alabama was delighted last week when she and her friends went and tried on all of the pretty jewelry that they have seen on all of the princesses. Avery will be traveling to Disney World with her family in July. So, as a token of congratulation, Smith Jeweler’s in Jackson, Alabama let Avery and her friends come into the store and try on any and all pieces of jewelry that their hearts desired.
Avery suffers with conditions of the brain, but that is not keeping her from being thrilled to meet the princesses at Disney World. Her smile lit up the room brighter than any diamond found in the showcases. When she gets to meet Cinderella in her castle at Disney World, Avery will get to compare tiaras with the Princess thanks to Smith Jeweler’s for providing her with her own princess headwear.
“This is a kid in need,” Smith Jeweler’s Owner, Clint Brown, said. “I’m glad we could help.” Smith Jeweler’s teamed up with the Alabama Association of Jewelers and the “Jewelers for Children” program to make Avery’s wish come true. “It absolutely means the world to us at Make-A-Wish Alabama to have businesses in our state that want to put a smile on a child’s face as much as we do,” Make-A-Wish Alabama President and CEO, Pam Jones, said.
Avery did not just leave with a shiny, bedazzled new tiara, but she also received a Pandora bracelet with a castle charm on it. As with every wish…Avery’s wish was unique. It is what Make-A-Wish Alabama takes pride in; Finding that one true, heartfelt wish that will give any wish kid a new, fresh outlook on life. During our first year in operation as a new chapter in 2013, Make-A-Wish Alabama granted 130 wishes. This year, Make-A-Wish Alabama is on course to grant at least 143 wishes.
