“ Do It. It's so easy and fun. You can do it. ”

- Annika

Annika was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor, but her love for animals has not stopped her from helping homeless animals in the northwest corner of Alabama for many years! When Make-A-Wish Alabama approached Annika about receiving a wish, there was never any doubt what Annika’s wish would be – to provide assistance to abandoned and abused pets. On Saturday, August 31 in Wilson Park, Annika’s one true heartfelt wish was fulfilled at the PAWS in the Park event. On behalf of Annika, a Make-A-Wish Alabama volunteer presented $7,000.00 to Pets Are Worth Saving - P.A.W.S. “Annika has wanted this before she got sick. She’s most interested in volunteering at the adoption events and wants every animal to go to a good home,” said Anne Glover, mother of Annika. More exciting, P.A.W.S has let Annika play an active role in helping dogs and cats get adopted by welcoming her as their newest volunteer. Her wish means hundreds of dogs and cats will be spayed and neutered, foster homes will have food and veterinary care for animals while they wait for a loving home. Additionally, P.A.W.S Trap/Neuter/ Release Program will continue to prevent feral animals from reproducing in Lauderdale/Colbert/Franklin Counties
